The Mother and Child Project, a social enterprise dedicated to helping disadvantaged women in Singapore, has launched its very first temporary guerrilla store at Millenia Walk.

Made possible with the support of Millenia Walk, Mother and Child Project now has – for the first time – its very own retail space to showcase its collection of handmade fashion and lifestyle accessories specially handmade by disadvantaged women in Singapore and designed by founder and trained fashion designer, Anna T. 
The Project works with single mothers with children, unsupported retirees and women who are recovering from psychiatric illnesses. By providing home based work, this enables the women to become economically self-sufficient. Shop without guilt and with the confidence that you are helping the women with Mother and Child Project! 
The store features a wide selection of all things fun and fabulous – from hand-sewn clothes (many of which are bespoke one-of-a-kind pieces), jewellery pieces, and the signature Samsui Woman and Peranakan Woman series to a creative range of home furnishings and accessories.  Most of the products sold at the shop are designed using donated fabric, and the Project is run primarily with volunteers to ensure that a large percentage of money earned from each product goes back to the women.

This space, with its premier location at Millenia Walk, has enabled us to showcase the works of our disadvantaged but talented women. Mother and Child Project is proud to be a member of the marketing collective, GET SINGAPORE http://www.getsingapore.sg/, an initiative promoting Singapore as a place where good design and innovative retail ideas co-exist, all found in the Mother and Child Project “POP-UP” Shop!
