Founded in 1936 by Ho Yew Ping, a migrant from the Guangdong province of China, On Cheong Jewellery began as a premier goldsmith in Singapore. Over the years, it has achieved a reputation for being a purveyor of unique jewellery designs and expert craftsmanship. Today, the name 'On Cheong Jewellery' brings to mind contemporary jewellery for both men and women. On Cheong offers an extensive array of custom and ready-made jewellery, covering a diverse range – from traditional Asian creations to western-styled pieces. The On Cheong collection of jade jewellery is reputed to be one of the most complete and exquisite in Singapore.

On Cheong's commitment to customer service achieved industry recognition when the company became the first jeweller to receive an award in the Quality Jewellers of Singapore Scheme (QJS) in 2004 and the Singapore Service Star Award in 2008. In 2006 and again 2008, On Cheong was honoured with the SPBA Heritage Brand Award.
